Over the weekend I had the opportunity to go on a tour to a local orchid farm, zip along the back canals in a long tail boat and visit a floating market. All parts of the tour were amazing…but the orchids, they were the highlight of the day! I was shocked to find out that orchids take 3-4 years to grow to full maturity, and to be able to be sold at the markets. So my business brain goes into gear looking at the size of the farm, the number of plants and the selling price (100 baht or $4Cdn) and the crop rotation time of 3-4 years – this must be purely a labour of love – because I don’t know how much profit is in it…but what a beautiful love it is.
I ended up being the only person on the tour (lucky me), so it felt like I had the canals all to myself that morning.
Sometimes pictures don’t capture the full vibe – inserting a video to better capture the moment!

What a privilege to experience this in quiet and not with the masses! The beauty of the orchids is stunning. I loved how they are used with such abundance at all the public and private shrines.
I am so happy for you, it all looks wonderful ♥️
Yes, it was so special to have it all to myself – even my guide was snapping pictures without the crowds!
I love the orchid farm! 😍 It is much bigger than I imagined. Thank you for sharing the pictures and the video. What a lucky person to have the long boat tour to yourself.
Those orchids are amazing!!! And thanks for posting the video. What an adventure.
The orchids are gorgeous! Love the video of the canal ride and how much you have already seen since arriving.
