Paradise on Palawan

Well it’s time for a journey to a new country – The Philippines! I headed to the island of Palawan and the sleepy (and stunningly gorgeous) resort town of El Nido to spend some time with my friend and Hershey colleague Cleta. She so graciously let me intercept part of her already planned vacation in order to do some island hopping, kayaking and swimming around El Nido.

Around El Nido

I ended up exploring a bit of the area around town before Cleta arrived – travelling by local transportation called tricycles (why didn’t we have these kind of tricycles as kids) and hanging out at Las Cabanas Beach. The scenery is amazing!

Island Hopping

We spent two glorious days out on the water – sailing around in our boat from island to island. And of course we both needed to get the mandatory photo sitting at the front of the boat 😂. We kayaked, swam and snorkelled our way around the islands and still didn’t cover everything in 2 days. I really could have stayed in the town of El Nido…well…forever. It has a laid back vibe with some great restaurants and bars (one of which we were the last to leave at 1am – after polite hints from the staff indicated that it was time to go back to our hotel 😊).
