An Exercise In Living with Less

Getting ready to travel for a year has been so much fun! Reading countless travel books, blogs and creating my excel based “to do” list – has happily gobbled up my free time. And yes, I even took a course on how to create a website, along with free courses at the Apple Store since my iPhone will be the only camera I take on the trip. I’ll be travelling with just a backpack…dimensions are about 1ft x 2ft. I am not going to lie – I panicked a little (ok a lot) this evening when I pulled it out of the closet and saw how small it is. I’ll need to do a few trial packing attempts in the coming weeks…this won’t be pretty. I do believe in miracles! HAHA!
Researching the trip has also caused me to stumble upon some super cool gadgets that I will somehow attempt to find a spot for them in my backpack. Collapsable chopsticks, water filtration bottles, a cell phone powered fan…I may need to sacrifice clothing to ensure all the neat toys comes along with me.
Walt Whitman would be proud!
Can’t wait to follow along ❤️
This is going to be spectacular!
What an amazing adventure 🙌! I’ll just keep your website permanently open… and dream about joining you.
Btw, the NYT published packing Tipps – maybe some final inspiration.

I’m routing for you… I remember backing for a lot of Hershey business trips and folks amazed at what I could fit only in a carry on… but a back pack?! GOALS!
Thanks to the miracle of compression packing cubes…I did it!
