Despite being in Bangkok for over 3 weeks, these last few days have sure felt a lot like being back home – loads of Canadiana to fill this girl’s heart (and stomach).
On Wednesday, I had the privilege of getting a behind the scenes tour of Canada’s embassy in Thailand! Thank you Sanjeev (currently our acting Ambassador to Thailand) for being so generous of your time and making me feel so welcomed in Bangkok! Your kindness over these last few weeks can only be repaid with a whole lot of hand delivered Hershey chocolate whenever we are both back in Canada 😊

I also got to see Sanjeev in action as he launched the “Taste of Canada” food fair at one of the premier Gourmet food markets in downtown Bangkok. I enjoyed sampling my way through some of the great Canadian foods that were available for sale, laughing at the local’s reactions to seeing live lobster and watching the cooking demonstration. A great opportunity for Hershey’s Canadian made Brookside products to be featured in future fairs. So Hershey Canada Sales team – if you are reading – let’s go chase down this opp 😀
But it doesn’t stop there…Lululemon (another fine Canadian company and my sister’s favourite store) opened their first location in Bangkok. On opening day, I had to stand in-line to get into the store!!
And last but not least – just when you think you have weened yourself off of “double-doubles” after being out of the country for 3 weeks – you find yourself staring down a Tim Hortons in the middle of Bangkok. You can’t escape them – resistance is futile.

Love, LOVE, love ❤️ this post. No matter how far we travel we are always close to home 🏡!

Resistance is futile! Bahahahaha
😂
This is FANTASTIC! And yes, I stand in line at Lulus here in the states, so, I would have kept you company. This begs the question: no ROOTS? That’s a miss.
